Other uses for fabric conditioner?

Careful with TVs if yours is under warranty as using things like conditioner on it may void the warranty. Can make a nasty mess on LCD ones aswell.
I got some samples of a nice fragranced one which I couldn't use as DS2s eczema has been bad again so I used it as air freshner, rub a little onto the back of the radiator, gives off a lovely smell. One day I might be more organised...........

I love the smell of fabric conditioner, especially the blue flavoured stuff!
I get a basin of really hot steaming water and pour a capful in and leave it for a while. The utility room always smells lovely!0 -
Another option may be just to take it back with a complaint that it caused a reaction, I would imagine they would refund you, as they don't like to think any of their products have a problem!

i've got an lcd tv only few weeks old. do u think it safe to use on that ?
they did say when we bought it never to use an products with alcohol in it. and only clean it when it turned off.0 -
To be honest the screens of LCD TVs should not attract dust unlike other TV screens, thy get very little on them in comparison. Therefore I don't see the need to use it.
A friend is the area manager for a retailer of TVs and he told me do not use any sprays/chemicals etc on mine as it can void the warranty, once that is up it's my choice of course.

I have about a litre of fabric conditioner in the cupboard that I used to use when having to dry clothes on airers and radiators round the house as they came off like boards. Now we have a tumble dryer and I partially TD, and then fold things and put them in the airing cupboard, which leaves the clothes nice and soft, so no need for the fabric conditioner.
It doesn't smell very strong, so there is no point using it for the sake of the smell. So rather than throw it away, is there anything else I can do with it?0 -
It is useful for adding to a washing machine that has too much suds in. Sometimes when I am washing towels they make too much suds in the machine even though I only use the amount of powder I would with other types of loads, and the machine cannot rinse or drain properly. So I use the same amount of washing tablets, and if the suds look too much I put a couple of capfuls of fabric conditioner in which eases the amount of suds.0

Hi Chakani,
Apparently it's good for cleaning windows. There's an earlier thread with more ideas that may help so I've added your post to it to keep the suggestions together.

My friend dilutes it into a spray bottle and uses it as a febreeze style refresher for clothes. It does have to be very dilute though so it'd take you ages to fill a whole bottle up.
I'd second trying to take it back, or swapping with someone else.Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for a new iron but i sometimes mix a little fabric conditioner with quite a lot of water and fill my iron up with it when i want to steam iron clothes. It makes them smell lovely.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
