I paid sticker price for the house because persimmon did not want to budge on the asking price, so the only way i could make something back was for products into the house that i would of done anyways.
@ethank i reserved in feb this year and have been following its progress every week by visiting the house, mostly first fixed now and plastered, ive got a portfolio of the house from
Foundations up so i can show my kids when they grow up and also forward a copy to its future owner0 -
Thanks for all the replys!
Spoke with them today and they were very firm on not giving any add-ons but managed to squeeze stamp duty and legal fees out of them so that's a decent amount towards add-ons.0 -
On there website they are offering £500 towards finishing touches to houses completed in june, i still think they can offer u alot more, atleast 10% and ur not even budging of the asking price, stamp and legal is only about £2500 maximum, to fully carpet ur new home and stick ur white goods in will easy be over that.
But it also depends on how fast the site is selling its stock off plan, they will always have buyers but each buyer will always be pushing for that extra freebie, you just need to feel for what you can get away with, also check if there is another developer on that site and play there offers against each other to similar size houses, persimmon should bend over backwords then to take the sale, thats how i got that little bit more out of my deal0 -
I was disappointed with the finish of the kitchen units in the Persimmon (Charles Church branded) home my mother bought. They claimed to have given us an ugrade on the units, but if that's the case, woe betide anyone who gets the standard kit. You can normally negotiate a good 10% off the asking price - if you play your cards close to your chest. We did get carpets and wardrobes included, but the quality of the carpets was pretty rubbish, and also wasn't the colour we had chosen!!!0
