Help with installing W8.1 - Drive options??

Hi,
I have purchased a HP laptop G2 455 A6
It came pre-installed with W7 and a W8 disc
The instructions say to take full advantage of W8 features, to first enable UEFI native boot mode in Bios settings
I have done this:
Switch on, escape, F10
Gone into advanced settings and changed the boot mode from legacy to UEFI native, saved settings.
I then put the disc in, restarted and esc, F9, and in the start up options, selected Optical Drive (UEFI), the only other options at this stage was OS boot manager, 2 x ethernet, and EFI file
The set-up screen then appears and I select english etc, and then get to the bit where I am supposed to choose the drive option under 'advanced' and then delete all drives except Drive 0 unallocated space.
However, this is not showing, all I get is this:
Drive 0 Partition 1:system
Drive 0 Partition 2:windows
Drive 0 Partition 3:HP recovery
Drive 0 Partition 4:HP tools
Windows can't be installed on drive 0 as selected disc has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, windows can olny be installed to GPT discs.
I have tried this sequence a couple of times, but always get to the error above?
Can anyone advise what I am doing wrong and how to go ahead and install W8 with UEFI native boot mode?
Thanks

yes , the file system is different under uefi , you will need to go to custom install , and delete all the partitions then create new , it will then create the nessesarry partitions for a uefi win 8x install
by doing this EVERYTHING inc your personal files , and the win 7 recovery will be deleted.0 -

are you not allowed to delete partitions?
edit , do you have a win 7 or even a xp disk ? , you could use one of those to boot , delete partitions and then restart with the win 8x disk
edit 2: I have a couple of EARLY versions of 8x that do not allow uefi , , "instructions"? with the disc or online?
edit 3: , can you pull your drive , and delete the partitions using you PC? , plug into cd rom cables , and run disk management or mini partition tools ,0 -

The 'instructions' came with the W8 disc in paper form"Hope for the Best

the way I usually set the boot , is to press F8 or whatever , and select dvd (or pendrive in my case) and boot0

not all features available after 8.1 upgrade , you need to remove the l/top drive , delete partitions and the replace / reload0

edit , about 43 , have you tried running the win 8 directly from within windows ? , sounds like you have been given a win 8 UPGRADE disk , not a clean install one0
