Just had a look to see what paltry allowance you get for 99p, knowing that 'nobody offers more for £1 than EE'. Well it's actually quite good; 33 UK mins, 33MB data and 33 texts, plus unlimited same network mins. Even without the latter that beats one EE £1 bundle for data, beats the other for texts and beats both for minutes. Oh, and it doesn't all expire after 7 days. I reckon that's a good deal more than EE are offering.Delight seems to work fine for me. So far. Cheap simplicity. Might even splurge on a 99p 30-day bundle...
What's the minimum top-up with Delight, and do they have minimum call charges (doesn't say so in the tariff)?0 -
My full family and relatives were on lyca before and now weall are on vectone for last 3 months and the best thing is I did not even topup my sim and I can call and text all of them for free J

Minimum top-up £5, no minimum call charges as far as I know. Like Vectone (same group) you get free Delight-to-Delight calls & texts without even the need to top up. You get some free data when you do top-up. Unlike other networks, you cannot see any data connection on your phone until your first top-up is made. Speaking to a CS rep is not the most pleasant experience, but at least it's free.Kernel_Sanders wrote: »What's the minimum top-up with Delight, and do they have minimum call charges (doesn't say so in the tariff)?Evolution, not revolution0 -
Mobile by Sainsbury's? Vodafone MVNO. 4p a text and 8p a minute, I think. They're also giving a free bundle until May sometime if you order a free sim from their website and link it to a nectar card within 30 days of ordering the sim. Worth joining nectar to get a free trial of the service/coverage even if you don't shop there. They also give Nectar points on topups on their network, a nice extra if you use Sainsbury's anyway.
They throw coupons out sometimes for money off topups too.0 -
They are a nightmare for a vast number of reasons.
Hence why I said that but good luck anyways

I never doubted you had good reasons to say that, if you have time please tell us about it. When my £5 top-up is used up after a few months there may well be better options...They are a nightmare for a vast number of reasons.

Interesting question, I don't have an old locked phone to try my Delight SIM in. Let us know if you try it.Kernel_Sanders wrote: »Will a Delight SIM work in an old phone locked to Tmobile or Orange?
What do you mean by 'see any data connection'?
When you put a new prepay SIM in a smart phone and install the network data settings, usually the data connection icon, 3G, H etc, appears on the status bar even before the SIM has been topped up, before the data connection can actually be used. But Delight requires a first top-up before the icon will appear. That's my experience anyway - I wanted to see the data connection before risking five quid, when I couldn't see one I called CS who told me I have to top-up first, after a few days' hesitation I did so and the icon appears, free data working. Useful to know perhaps.Evolution, not revolution0 -
There are two choices:
One is to go for a deal where calls to ordinary 01, 02 and 03 numbers and to ordinary mobile numbers are cheap. Prices start at about 3p per minute, while some networks charge up to 45p per minute. Be aware that calls to 080 numbers will be free from 1 July 2015.
The other is to go with an inclusive deal that covers all of your usage. You might get away with a £5 deal most months. Be aware that if you exceed the allowance the call rates can be extortionate, wiping out any savings you made.
If you ever phone chargeable services on 084, 087 or 09 numbers be sure to make a note of how much the Access Charge is. All landline and mobile networks have to declare this figure ahead of the new call charge system coming into effect on 1 July 2015.
If you ever need to call 101, be aware that you cannot do that on a deal with only an inclusive allowance. You need separate pay-as-you-go credit or you will need to make a note of the alternative 01, 02 or 03 number that every police force is required to advertise alongside 101.0
