Employer won't allow me to claim fuel back from HMRC

The miles you claim for have to be "business miles" - home to work does not count.

Thanks, yes, that's always been the rule with me but others may not know this

You can't claim the difference if you have a company car, only if you have cash allowance or use your own car for company business.

Time for a new job, your giving this employer your wages back in subsidising his transport policy.

My earlier question is still pertinent to me as I'm about to opt for a cash allowance (£4500) next month and run my own car. Again, I'll be claiming 14ppm

What evidence do they require, though? How do I prove I've done 10,000 miles for example?
