The email in Dec 13 sent was vague. Given the deadline was known. Why no follow up i.e. phone call.
Likewise why no action until June 2014. As would have been very apparent that no deductions were being made from salary.
Facts paint a picture. Decisions are then made on the balance of probability.
The deadline was December 31st. I am always very busy at work. Plus on the form; it said if you have any questions then email payroll. I do not understand why the email was vague? I confirmed that I sent the form by post and asked them to confirm that they received it.0 -
I think you could/should arguably have been more on the ball and proactive with your own communications. If it had been me, I would have been chasing it up long before the December, and certainly not letting it roll on a further six months before questioning it.
If it could be detrimental to your relationship with the company to continue to press for this, it may be wise to accept that they've agreed to enrol you going forward and draw a line under it.“In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing at all.” - Roosevelt0 -

I did chase it and I was on the ball. I was told that the company would not increase its contributions at the time. This advise was wrong.0 -

Do you mean a grievance? I was hoping for some legal advice. I tried asking a question on this site a week or so ago but there was no response: http://www.thelawforum.co.uk
Is there a legal section on MSE?0 -
Well as I sad we aren't lawyers.
Did you try the CAB forum or dropping into your local one?
Have you asked for a free consultation from an employment lawyer?0 -

I have been a member of unison for five years. They said they will provide access to a solicitor.
My manager has said he supports me and is engaging with hr. I am waiting for the outcome of that before deciding how to proceed.0 -
Get your union to set up that meeting with a solicitor while you wait.0

My head of department (director) said on 07/05/15 that he supported me and asked the head of HR to review my case. On 14/05/15 the my head of department said it was "sorted". I asked for the outcome but he said he did not know and the Head of HR was going to write to me. I heard nothing by 29/05/15. Therefore I emailed the head of HR as suggested by the head of my department. I have not had a response yet after seven days, which I am dissapointed about.
I am unsure what to do now. Go back to the union or just wait.0
