Yes there were some areas of former coalfields but they turned Conservative. Possibly due to the vote for UKIP taking votes away from Labour:

At the Grendon Working Men’s Club Keith Dennis says that he has witnessed a massive transformation in voting habits. “Twenty years ago everyone was Labour here. Now some of the older ones remain loyal but there’s a lot of disillusionment with the Labour party.”
Wombles are proving useless. Even when I have all four comps. available (I'm on the old site), the best I've had so far is an offer of 12p. It was too late to do any shopping at all today by the time I reached A, although I did manage to obtain a few wombles.0 -

I'm sure there are voters of all persuasions amongst us. Just as I'm sure there are those that aren't interested and don't vote. We are a diverse bunch of people in every way and I'm sure that includes our politics.
I personally don't mind if politics are discussed here. There was some interesting conversations around the time of the referendum and although I wasn't here for the election coverage, some on here enjoyed each other's company throughout it.
It can and usually does get out of hand though and that's usually because some people can't accept that not everyone shares their views. I'm not talking about me here......I'm keeping my views to myself.....I'm just saying in general.
I suggest if someone has called you scum......that you should report it. No one deserves to be verbally abused on here. Even if it's done privately0 -
