Have you had any freebies yet ?
I've had 6 months free full tv package twice & just had another month on its own free. Along with 1/2 price In between deals etc. just be prepared to actually cancel as sometimes they let you and then ring you offers. Never gone back into a tv contract though I don't think. Hth xx
We're off sky for a week now. We only have TV with them. Previously we had 9m free and then about a month later 1yr free of any charges - this was for the full TV packages incl. of movies and sports. Have never paid more than 50% off from the start, about 8 years ago. We did have an old Sky+ box. Decided we'd like a new box so when they phoned after our last cancellation went into a Family+ with the box sets which was supposed to be £8 a month. Somehow we ended up paying £13+ so after much hassle they gave us credit to get it back to £8 per month.
When I called to cancel this time the cheapest they could offer was the Sky basic package at 65% off so £6.50 a month. Decided we'd like a bit more than this as we watch the documentary channels more than most other things. Waiting for an offer now - wish they'd hurry up!
Have found that we can get a lot of episodes free from History channel on you tube. I've also just added Now TV at £6.99 for a month but hopefully with £7 CB from TCB so we can see Game of Thrones - never got into it when it was on but when we had the box sets last year we watched them all - TBH it was the best way to watch them.
Am missing the easy catch-up with the Sky box but TBH we are watching enough TV - the box sets on the Now TV are pretty good as is the catch ups on BBC, ITV etc. Our only problem is that our TV just has 1 HDMI port so skybox has to be removed when Now TV or computer plugged into it.
Will wait this month out and see if they ring us again - we turned down 50% off as we'd already had an offer of 65% off when I phoned to cancel - which in hindsight I should have taken with the basic package.
Was thinking of buying a satellite Humax box as we get few channels through Freeview down to being in a small village in a dip in the valleys. However I'm not sure of its cost effectiveness if we can get extra channels for hopefully £6.50 a month £78 a year or less?
Free would be nice again but I don't know whether we'll get that again as now the agents seem able to see that we've had free TV previously? TBH we rarely looked at Movies or Sport and the only channels we're missing are documentaries - which used to be on the original +2 options that we started with. I think Sky knew exactly what they were doing when they took that option off everyone.
If we don't get offered anything I think we might wait as the summer is coming and the TV turns into carp then. We have loads of films on DVD that we bought nearly 2 years ago on a great deal when nearly new films were sold off around £1 each. We've watched only a small number so far.
TBH I can't understand when people pay the full price for the full package. Maybe I'm just too cheap or MSE to consider doing that?0 -

Afternoon
Not looking forward to work tomorrow thanks to ill one
Hoping cook got in touch with office and area manager when we left. She said she would let me know later.
Ill one on main meals this week and talk about cocking it up today giving out wrong sarnies and wrong burgers to kids. Sackable offence some of stuff she was doing. Mid days said they going to report ill one to head they have had enough of her.
Cook got all worked up saying she will get blamed. So I told her why should she ill one worked over 8 years in kitchen and its not rocket science what we do. So I told cook to ring area manager and let them know before it erupts tomorrow
Sat here enjoying my :coffee:0
