  • Hello, I have received an email at my work from helix ltd regarding an outstanding balance with mini credit. The email states that they are either going to arrest my wages, get some kind of order that says I can't sell my house until this debt is paid off, or remove my assets. I am panicing. I have had serious debt problems and am currently paying off a large amount of council tax and rent arrears I've had previously. I honestly can't afford to pay any more every month otherwise I will be homeless. I have never claimed this debt, as to be honest I am not one hundred per cent certain it is mine, but I thought that they could only arrest wages for council tax and rent arrears. I live in Scotland too, so I am not sure if the laws are different.
  • Amypett, you really need to start your own thread so that a) people see it and are able to offer advice and b) it's not really fair to the OP in this thread if people start offering advice to someone else about another issue

If you're not sure how to do it, at the top left hand side of the board, there's a button that says 'new thread' ... just hit that :)

Have you had a chance to look at the SOA?

That's really the first place to start as it will let us see where cuts may be possible, offer advice on what to do etc

  • Can't see any button saying new thread. Didn't think it would be an issue doing what I did, as I have posted the same way previously. Will need to get advice elsewhere

    Hi Amy,

On the Debt free wannabe thread page there is a blue button on the left hand side which says 'new thread'. Click that and post away. There is toms of help waiting for you but posting halfway down somebody elses thread will mean most people miss your post and won't be able to advise you.

    Hope this helps

Good luck on your DF journey, this is the best place to get help and advice :) My OH knows about my debt but my Mum does not, I know she would worry and want to help me, so I have kept this to myself for the past 6 years :)
