Sky (as announced on this forum board) have just increased their prices - ergo - the wholesale price goes up as well.
But I don't understand why direct Sky Sports subscribers with a Sky box only have to pay a £1 a mth increase but Virgin Media subscribers have to pay £2?
Seems a bit iffy.0 -

I'm guessing that as most of Sky's packages have gone up, in turn the other channels that they sell to Virgin have also gone up in price. Maybe Virgin have taken the decision to increase the sports cost by more in order to keep their basic packages at the current price?
I don't know what the current cost for a non sports and movies Virgin package is, but if it's less than Sky charge for similar channels it will enable them to say how much cheaper than Sky they are.0 -
I got a package last year where I got Sky Sports on virgin media for £150 up front for the length of the football season.
I also got a questionnaire a few months ago from Virgin on my opinions on various packages, such as sports and movies for £X up front for 1 year, 2 years etc.
I hope they have the up front deal for next season too. It's quite a big saving.0 -
We got this letter detailing that and I was surprised because it's a new contract and I thought they had to stick to the contract price until the end of that contract.
They've probably got some legal fidgie-widginess in the contract to get around that though I suppose.0
