Cash ISA transfer - old account closed?

Hello, this may be an obvious question.

When I transfer a cash ISA from one provider to the other - I assume the old cash ISA account will be closed after the funds have moved? (instantly? what happens to pending interest etc) Or does only the money held within it move and the account will remain there?

finally: if the old account did remain open [but with the balance transfered to new] would i be able to add further deposits to it [if i am not adding any deposits to the new isa]

Unless you request a partial transfer, your old cash ISA gets closed. There won't then be any pending interest as the old ISA provider will add all interest earned to the transfer amount.

Thanks - that was initial assumption but wanted to check.

So the account should hopefully just disappear from online banking view when transfer complete.
