  • I'm doing something similar with one of my debts, my CC. Still owe £900, but down from £1250 from a couple of months ago.
I figured that as well as debt-busting the rest of the debt as best as I can with regular amounts from my income, anything else I can sell and throw the proceeds towards my CC is a bonus!

This last week I have sold on the facebook selling pages: a set of oil and vinegar pourers, 2 cake tins, 6 books, an ornament, a mug tree with 4 mugs and some shoes amongst other 'stuff'.
Then today I sold my console table (small sideboard unit) because I no longer had the need for it due to all of my sorting and selling!

I have an aim to try and make £50 more this week from some more things I no longer need or use, and then put the money onto my CC.

Resut = cleaner, tidier house and less debt! :)

The kids' old climbing frame which hasn't been used for years went yesterday. They're all teens now. It's gone off to a family of four kids aged 3 to 9 so I hope they are having fun on it already. £80 in for debt clearing. Another step!

Why don't you try to find a better work or to make some money in the web?

I'm doing similar but for saving as Debt Fee last year, keep an eye out from eBay offering you 100 free listings I have missed a few of these I do my 20 free listings per month without fail last month I made £85 from old clothes. Any that don't sell get relisted once then its off to cash 4 clothes.

I am enjoying seeing my house clutter reduce.

So I have £2,046 sitting on an interest-free credit card for the next couple of years. Going to try to pay it off entirely using sales from old [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasures in the garage / cupboards!

    So far:

    16th April - two Calor gas bottles £15 - leaving £2,031
    17th April - Calor gas heater £20 - leaving £2,011

Got a few other things to go up, including a few job lots of old videos - thinking £7 for ten videos.

Setting myself the target of clearing the full £2,046 balance before the interest-free period runs out.

Good luck :) Your house will feel so much better without so much stuff cluttering up the place too :)

Good luck trying to sell videos. Most people don't have a VCR any more so unless they are Disney or kids films (as some people put a video/tv combi in kids rooms/playrooms) you'll be hard pressed to get anyone to buy them. We couldn't even give ours away - the charity shops refuse them now as they know they can't sell them :(
