    just a note.

dont download all these startup programs that clean your startup list...

    as some1 said above.

just hit start>run>msconfig>startup then u can stop things starting up from there...much safer.
  • Yeah you dont need to use all these programmes but I have found "Ashampoo StartUp Cleaner 2" very usefull for this purpose as 1) its free and 2) it tells you what the things do.

running msconfig.exe might be useful too.

This is ususally how I remove things from the start-up. Don't really seem necessary to download ANOTHER program in order to stop others running. You can stop processes as well as programs from running at start up such as Realsched.exe and Ipod Helper both for which I have no need for.

The danger there, is knowing what is necessary and what is not.
It's fine if you are confident and have the knowledge, but could be a bag of trouble otherwise.

well even if u disable everything from there instartup ur pc will still work. so it wont cause u any problems. and u can add things back 1 by 1 ie. antivirus.....:D

yes u can under settings u can dont show in taskbar. i am in work so i cant remember 100% how.

    also u could use "hijackthis"

    (this is from memory)

if u right click the icon>prefences>advanced>Install QuickTime icon in system tray>Tray Icon>uncheck the box

This should remove the icon from your tray and it should not be there the next time you restart your computer.
