TAP paid up after 9 month

I travelled from Brazil to London with a change in Lisbon last July.
The flight from Brazil was delayed 24hours and my connecting flight in Lisbon was cancelled and I was offered one 13 hours later. To be fair to TAP they put us in a hotel and provided food.
I made 2 claims against TAP, one for the delay from Brazil and one for the cancelation. They acknowledged both claims but then nothing.
In March I decided to take the big step and register with the Court Service "Claims online".
I issued a Court claim for each claim and I had to pay £25 for each claim. The paperwork was easy and TAP paid up within three weeks. I have never issued a court claim in my life.
Thank you Martin and the website.
My advice to other passengers is simple. Follow the Moneysaving expert guidance, use the letter templates, and if necessary issue a Court claim. It was so simple and I have £730. £290 for the cancelation and £440 for the delay.
The first benefit I think I have ever received from the EU.
My final thought is that to be fair to the Airlines the compensation should be limited to the fare paid. In my case it was about 25%.
