If you buy on eBay, DO NOT buy the one's that are clearly counterfeit/copies of the genuine item. If they're branded (in this case Sony), then stay well away.
You get better value from those that don't pretend to be something they are not AND when you come to use/charge them, you'll know straight away which one is the genuine article and which one you need to be more wary of.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

A lot of the stuff sold everywhere is chinese, sold at a huge markup, that's the economics of retail, they buy it, transport it, put it on shelves in large fitted out retail outlets, pay for staff, holidays, sick leave, training, accountants, pay vat, pay rent, pay corporation tax etc etc.
The thing from a huge retail outlet is a little less likely to burn your house down or electrocute you, and if it does go wrong, you have a some comeback.0 -

You could always get a Duracell branded battery if you needed more re-assurance : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005AHVUQ6/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_d0_i2
BUT.. the one I originally linked to has a good score from 151 reviews - that's more than enough reassurance for my liking. I'd be tempted to buy it via their UK website, rather than Amazon as it's even cheaper (£5.97 with free delivery):

Just check your camera is on the list of those compatible.0 -

If you want a testimonial, I've used this Amazon seller several times with satisfaction - incl exactly that model of battery:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ex-Pro-NP-FW50-NPFW50-Power-Upgraded-Black/dp/B005HOXE6G/ref=pd_bxgy_ce_text_y
Their chargers are a bit fragile but batteries and customer service are good.0 -
I use the Ex-pro batteries in my Sony cameras all the time, never had a problem with them. Amazon have them to fit loads of different cameras so make sure you order the correct one. The only drawback I have seen from them is that they seem to hold slightly less charge than the genuine sony batteries (not much less though) They often have them as a twin pack so might be worth getting that instead.0
