Some people can't be bothered to look or even have it.
I've done it, and will continue to do it. Just like I have re-used Asda vouchers, one I managed to use three times as the person didn't mark off the receipt.

That's like saying if someone left £5 somewhere and you found it then you should try and return it.

Of course you should use it........if you can!
Be aware that the big supermarkets link the voucher to the loyalty card used by the original shopper. i.e. Tesco Clubcard or Sainsbury Nectar card. By all means try it, but be prepared to brazen it out if you are denied at the checkout.
    Good Luck!

Not saying whether it's right or wrong - I simply don't know, but if you think it may be on your conscience, then don't do it. A good night's sleep is worth more than £4!

If you don't pick it up, someone else will. But if you want to be really virtuous, hand it in at your local Police Station in case the 'owner' comes to claim it. (Try and keep a straight face.) You can come back for it in a month. It will still be there. Many people just don't care about these coupons.

    Cor, where do you live!
Police don't accept things any more (even if you can find an officer or a station that's open to hand it in to.)

People don't "forget" money off vouchers. They either treasure them (like you) or they can't be bothered with them (because they're young, foolish and spend their time complaining that they have no money!)

Spend it, enjoy it. Unless it's a Tesco voucher, in which case they need it more than you do! And don't forget "It's worth more than you think.., had you earned it you would have paid tax on it too!"
  • I once found £20 in the notes-out tray of a self-service check-out at Asda. I handed it in to customer services who gave me a receipt and said if not claimed within 3 months I could come back and claim the £20, which I did.

I think this goes beyond fastidious. Keep the coupon and get yourself another boyfriend, one with a sense of humour and a sense of proportion!
  • He's being ridiculous. Of course it's not stealing - they left the voucher of their own actions. Next, your boyfriend will be saying that if his mum gives him a similar voucher after she's been to the shops he shouldn't use it because it's fraud!

Then again, who spends £20 in WH Smith these days?
  • If it's been left behind at a self checkout chances are the person doesn't want the coupon so then it's yours to use.

Sainsburys dish out extra nectar points vouchers and money off coupons at the till all the time. The extra points ones are supposed to be for you only to encourage you to buy the product or spend a certain amount, however if u don't buy the product but someone else is buying it, it will still accept the coupon with a different nectar card. Same goes for money off coupons provided u spend the amount not including spirits and liqueurs on certain ones.

Customers with nectar cards usually get coupons all the time but not everyone gets them as it's something like 1 in every 6 that doesn't get coupons but not often that happens. Unless they see the coupon and return to get it or they are a regular customer and the member of staff sees the coupon and calls them for it then I say take it and use it nobody can really prove it's not yours.

Only thing I would say is if u are the type of person who would take a receipt that wasn't yours to get the points added to your own card be wary about over doing it as if this is spotted by staff u could be reported as it is actually fraud even if it is only a few pence.
