posting on here as I know quite a few have this phone

anyway last night my battery dropped from about 15% to 1% (battery had been draining faster than normal and charging slow previous day)

anyway now it won't charge and was just stuck on a 0% battery charge even left charging overnight
tried the volume and power key and normal boot thing but nothing seemed to happen, now on charge and only thing happening is the white led light on (sometimes flashing)

anyone had similar problems and any ideas ?

Sounds like your battery is toasted. Is it still under warranty?

If not, there are a few howto vids on replacing the battery on youtube. I guess you have nothing to lose (apart from the price of a new battery) if you are out of warranty. Or maybe take it to one of those phone stalls you see in shopping centres and see how much they'll do it for.
  • The cells inside your battery got infected, this is the only reason because of which this sudden drop occurs. Now these cells do not have potential to store charge. Even if these somehow store the charge, they will drop the charge in the similar way again. Its better to get a new one.

How do the battery cells become infected?

    Is it from eating SPAM?

Back again, my phone did start working again but its certainly draining faster and has done the down to 0% thing again once and took a day to charge back up (stuck at 0% for hours) also my ac chargers (genuine samsung and cheaper one) won't work so just using the usb ones.

Its only back in July that I got it and it was fine until recently

Has anyone encountered similar with their phones ?

Is this not the exact same problem you posted about last year when you tripped over the charging cable and kicked it across the room ???
If it is still under warranty you can return it for repair but clearly a chance it may come back as fault due to physical abuse
It's not just about the money

Reads to me as a connection problem . Charging/ USB Port >> Battery charging or a dead battery .

    From the Moto forum;

Moto G will not power up

    1. Plug it into the charger
    2. Hold the VOL DOWN key
    3. While still holding the VOL DOWN key, press and hold the POWER key
    4. Hold both keys down for over 120 seconds. This is more than two minutes and will seem like a long time. You might want to time yourself to make sure you hold it longer than two minutes.
    5. After holding the keys down for more than two minutes, release them.
    6. The Flash Boot screen will display, and the Normal Reboot option will be highlighted
    7. Press the VOL UP key and the device will start a normal reboot.

If you have tried the above and it didn't work, try this:

Plug in the phone for 15 minutes.
    Proceed to Step 2 above.
