    Freudian slip, surely? :)

Last time I looked, Clegg was in government for the last 5 years.

Oops, yes. I meant in government, sorry. Thanks for spotting. I am typing on phone today so not good for previewing when you're a blind bat.

It's an understandable mistake to make. A lot of the time Clegg sounded as if he was in opposition.

Clegg is becoming deluded, the sooner the good folk of Sheffield Hallam dispense with his services the better.

I cannot see Cameron allowing Lib Dems back into Government unless he has enough seats to give Conservatives an overall majority and there is no other way to do it. If he is within 10 he will do a deal with the UU and UKIP. If the LAB/CON parties are roughly equal the LDs will probably be irrelevant to both, unless Labour find the acquisition of a LD brain more palatable than relying on an arrangement with the SNP (who will never vote for the CONs in a confidence motion anyway).
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

Can someone explain to me why Nick Clegg is still around?

Surely no-one would consider believing a word said by someone who is a proven liar?

Of equal, and possibly more, importance, I really cannot see grass root LibDem supporters (those that are left) allowing their party to go into another coalition with the Tories, given the damage their reputation has received over the past five years. They may even think twice about going into any coalition for some time to come.

Clegg and some others at the top sold their party's soul for a few brief years of power and are paying the price now. Clegg may well try and do a deal with one of the two main parties, but I wouldn't expect him to be their leader for much longer, and hopefully he won't even be an MP in a month's time!

Yes, I would have expected that from an angry and disaffected person like you, Foxy. :)
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Angus Robertson is the SNP leader in Westminster. On the other hand, it might be a little naive to assume that Salmond has no ambitions in that regard. Why do you think he retired as Scottish FM, yet put his name down for Gordon?:)
