All that fuss and bother for BT to eventually just remove the 10gb restriction and drop the price with no contract renewal.
The "with no contract" part I would only trust if you have it in writing. But if you plan to stay anyway, It shouldn't really matter.0 -
As above the minimum broadband contract i have seen is 12 months .0

My husband said that adviser confirmed no contract when he asked and that the email that was sent through specified that (but I haven't seen it so cannot confirm that is correct), but as there is very little difference between the providers for us in the market it is likely we will continue with BT, contract or not (we've been with them since 2002). I've just worked out some of the costs of what we were being offered by BT and quoted on PlusNet's website when I put all of our details in:
If we put everything with BT:
Offered £33.84 over the phone (but would pay an additional one-off £50 connection fee to bring the phone back) + 12 month contract. Weekend calls only (no evenings)
If we switched everything to PlusNet:
Broadband: £17.49
Line rental: £15.95, weekend calls only included (no evenings)
Total: £33.45, 18 month contract
Also one off charge for a router in first month (£5.99)
If we wanted to keep our existing email addresses with BT (according to macman above): £1.50 extra
New 'arrangement'
BT Unlimited Broadband (existing 10gb limit removed): £17.03, no contract
Talktalk phone line rental (existing and unchanged): £16.70, evening and weekend calls included, no contract
Total £33.730 -

Where did you see the £17.49? This is the price for unlimited fibre if you don't take the phone line from Plusnet. I thought you want to have unlimited broadband and take the line rental from Plusnet too. Then have a look here https://www.plus.net/home-broadband/
Free unlimited broadband for the first 12 months + £15.95 line rental (can be reduced with the line rental saver). After the first 12 months it's £9.99.
I'm with Plusnet for 2 years now and never paid more than £4.99 for unlimited broadband. I just renewed and will pay only £2.50 from next month onwards. Just play hard when your minimum term is due for renewal.0
