Well said Phantasma!
And all this banning will effect companies too as they rely on fans like us to like and share their pages, and therefore increasing their fanbase totals BUT if we have been banned then we can no longer do it!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -

Me to, banned from any new likes until 17th May.
Did anyone enter a competition with this company :

It was for an iPad Air2 but something went wrong with the draw. They gave the prize to someone's girlfriend who works there and have had to redraw, However, I still "liked" their page just so I could still get the gossipbut today it seems they have "unliked" me. I didn't even someone could do that?

My ban has also been extended to 17 May. This happened at 11am today, just logged in to take a look.
So even though I have not been logged in since 14th April when I first got my ban, it's now been extended for not being logged in. Maybe it's a crime not being logged into "faeces" book?0 -
Also been banned and subsequently extended until 17th. Messaged them twice and no response. In terms of 'effect of comping', it's not really that huge as I like so many pages already there won't be *that* many competitions I can't enter. Stopping me liking/commenting on posts would have been much more effective. I avoid sharing competitions where it's optional, i.e. the 'share box' that appears at the end of many, as that's quite a quick way to get banned from previous experience, but I do share posts where the competition asks for it.
I'm not sure if this is a 'glitch' or a deliberate action - how many people who don't enter any competitions do people know of who have been banned? But if Facebook don't want people to enter competitions, they need to target the organisers of them and stop them running them - but of course they won't, as I'm sure most of them contribute heavily to their profits.
And that's what all of this has really brought home to me - the change in Facebook to an 'evil corporation'. I guess I knew it was happening, but hadn't seen the reality of it until now. To ban people with no explanation and enter in no communication on the matter is dictatorial in the extreme. But of course, they have so much power, that they can actually do whatever they like; what am I going to do, delete my account? Even if I do, what do they care, I'm not even a drop in the ocean, nor are compers as a collective. With billions of private users and every company having a presence, the users now need Facebook more than Facebook needs its users, barring a mass exodus in the billions, which won't be happening any time soon.
I don't remember them asking me if it was alright to post sponsored links on 'my' timeline, or use my cookies to target advertising at me. They really can pretty much do what they want. And as users, we actually just have to suck it up - or go back to MySpace :-)
I'm not whining about it, they can treat me as they choose, and I can be their user or not, it's my choice. It's just quite a sobering thought to realise what a faceless(how ironic) dictatorial entity they have become.
No need to put up with all their advertising rubbish just use F.B Purity add on extension and set facebook up how you like it. It doesn't work with internet explorer but there are a few browsers that it does work on including Firefox and chrome. I've been using it for ages now and it makes it so much better. Here's the link to it for anyone who wants to have a look

13 reasons that could get you banned from Facebook
There's a few on this list that could apply to compers.9. Using duplicate text in multiple messages
Some people paste a generic welcome message into friend requests to save time. DON’T DO THIS! It makes you look like a spammer. (Ironically, pro spammers are probably randomizing their messages to avoid this trap)
Liked and Shared
All done4. You posted in too many groups, too many user’s walls
You may be axed for being too verbose in too many places. That’s what spammers do, idiot. On Facebook it is better–or at least safer–to be seen than heard.
Oh dear, It's hard to comp and not be verbose in too many places.0 -
I am on the banned list for like new pages extended to 17th May-I have clicked on the appeal button asking how I can make a meaningful appeal when I do not know what I have done wrong-no response. I have today Tweeted them from the links provided in this thread-but I am not holding my breath.
Will update this thread if they do ever reply.0 -

Had a response to my Tweet (see above) which gave me a link to their generic responses; I replied advising that did not help and I wanted to know why they had blocked me and what part of my behaviour I needed to change to avoid it happening again. I am also posting on advertisers posts that I am unable to like their posts-due to action by Facebook. They may want consider the amount they are paying Facebook if customers are unable to click the like button.0 -
Perhaps we should all be putting in daily appeals until the faceless Facebook responds.0
