Thank you,
I see, so how many units have you used from October's accurate installed read, up to the recent accurate read? Was the first bill estimated?
I think the bill you received first was under estimated, so it looks like you've used more in the 3 months.
Just wanted to see how much you've used in the 6-7 months you've had the credit meter, two winter quarters.
Hope this makes sence.“Official Company Representative

15th Oct 14 - 28th Jan 15 00078 E 00327 E 2773
Above two readings on the same bill, going from one tariff to another
28th Jan 15 - 8th April 15 00327 E 01477 A 12838
I'm not disputing the numbers on the meter say what they do, I just don't see how we could use that much gas, is it possible the meter could be running incorrectly or a leak somewhere?
I appreciate the fitst figures would have been summer periods and this winter but it's still a heck of a lot - an average family's yearly usage in a quarter !!!!0 -
You have not used that in a quarter. The last actual meter read was in October so you have used 15667 kWh in 6 months over the winter period, high but not implausible.
 I have run your latest bill figures through my spreadsheet and it comes out at £388.57 inc VAT (£370.07 excl) for 12838 over 70 days on my tariff
EOn currently come 39th cheapest on all tariffs and 31st on fixed for me so get this bill paid off, take daily meter reads for a while and get moved to a cheaper supplier. It is highly unlikely your meter is reading incorrectly and you would have smelled a leak that makes a noticeable meter difference.0 -

I take it that means your spreadsheet of better deals?! :eek:0 -

Put your figures into a comparison site and see what comes out. Use 20000 as the kWh figure as that seems to be what you are on target for at the moment. As as said above, check out separate suppliers.

Hi Nada666
Thanks for your response
I'm just looking at previous gas bill from E'on, they were estimating we should have used 249 units - judging they get their information based on averages and we are most likely an average (or perhaps even below average usage couple) I wouldn't expect it to be four times higher?!
And fifty percent of households tend to use more than the average! Someone has to.
(Remember more than sixty percent of households are one and two person! And not being home five day-times a week is not as abnormal as many posters seem to think!)0 -
Morning jolester,
Sorry for the delayed reply, I think the others have hit the nail on the head really.
As the reads on the first bill were estimated, the actual usage is for the 6 month winter period, not just a quarter.
I also think you should take some regular reads and see how things go and also pop your details in to a comparison site.
I agree that it's unlikely there's anything wrong with the meter, but taking the reads daily will help you to establish a picture of your usage.
As it warms up, it should be going down for the gas, as we won't be having the heating on.
Thank you
