    Hi FatVonD

    Thanks for replying :)

There are no season ticket loans at my workplace so I thought an interest free card would be the next best thing but of course you wouldn't build up debt on a loan! At least it's a Clubcard credit card so I'm getting Clubcard points!

The Facebook selling pages will be set up by someone in your area - so depending on where you are you would search something like "North London buy and sell" etc. Then you just list things and arrange collection. Hope that helps.
    My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.

Snap! It seemed like such a good idea to get points on what is a pretty hefty expense each month but out of sight was out of mind in my case :( I now have it set up to clear every month. This month I have put all my food shopping on it, both big shops and also at the little local one near work. Partly because I was forgetting to take my clubcard at lunchtime and partly because it's too easy to say 'oh, I spend £65 per week on food' when, in my case at least, I think the actual figure is way higher and this month I will find out.

Thanks for that, I will get him to search for it when he gets home!

Re pets and dodgy eyes - my mums dog sometimes gets a gammy eye and mum just uses over the counter eye drops from the chemist which always clears it up, rather than going to the vets.

Or try bathing it with salt water, salt water is my answer to most things :)

Lilian - could you lower your CC limit so that you don't have the space on there to rack it up again in future? That's the approach I've been taking with my CC - as I pay some off, I lower the limit so I can't think "oh it's fine I now have x free on my CC - put it on there!"

I've decided I want something and so I'm going to reboot my swagbucking efforts! I think I've got a gift card with either £10 or £15 on (must hunt it out and check), so if I can get £10/£15 amazon vouchers I wont have to hand over any money! I've subscribed to the SB thread on here to start with and earnt a MASSIVE 10 SBs so far! :rotfl:
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)

Thanks for the advice twiggy - I've always been told though that the less available credit you have the worse it is for your credit rating? As in, it looks like you can't help but max out your cards?

    Yep, need new boiler. Bah!!
That's a big hole in the Emergency Fund, but I suppose on the bright side, I can be thankful that we do have an emergency fund these days. It would have been straight on credit in the old days B.C.S (Before common sense). Just done BACS transfer, so hopefully money will be in our account for Friday when it's boiler-fitting day.
Can't help feeling peed off though, so am going back down greenhouse to play with some more plants.
    Cheers all,
    f x
