Skipton ISA transfer in experience

Has anybody done a transfer into a Skipton ISA?
I signed up to the Limited Edition last week. I tried doing the transfer online several times over 4 days, the 2 step process where you select bank, account, sort code and then answer 2 yes/no questions. After clicking the submit button, I always get an error, saying it may be about my cookies (it is not) otherwise call.
So I called the number, waited on the line for just under an hour (!) before my call was put through. The lady said it was a "paper form" and not something done online. At first I thought she didn't understand but when I explained she confirmed the online transfer process online generates a form that still needs to be printed, complete/signed and sent by post. This really surprised me for an online only account. Is this true?
She then starting doing a security check (address, NI number, dob, etc.) after which she said she'd have the form sent to my postal address. Looking at their website, I do wonder if this will just be a plain form as on their website. I can't post links, but you can see it after choosing Savings then ISAs in the main menu, bottom right 'Transferring your ISA' link.
Any ideas? Should I wait a few days for this form to arrive or just fill out the one on the website?
I have opened the account, I can log in, but the balance is 0. Is there a deadline until which some balance must be loaded or I will lose the account/rate offer? I want to transfer my ISA from last year now but only add new money later this year but if there is a risk I may just add some minimum new money now.

Yes you have to sign the transfer form to authorise the transfer. A lot of the banks and building societies usually have an online form filling process which produces a completed PDF type document which you print sign and post off to your new ISA holder. In your case Skipton BS. They then request the funds from your old provider who must transfer the old ISA within 15 days of receipt of your application.
So it could be a problem with the Skipton site or an issue with your browser cookie or security settings. I would empty your browsers temp files and delete the cookies and ensure that ALL cookies are allowed in the browser settings, or perhaps try a different browser or even a different PC if you can get easy access to one.
Failing all, you will have to wait until the Skipton transfer form gets to you by post.
Hope that helps.0 -
I got an empty form, the same one I could have printed online. At least they provided a letter, 6 days lost probably worth the cost of a stamp in interest, LOL.0

I was able to transfer in online without signing anything. All went very smoothly and the money was in the account in 2 days.0

I originally had the same issue whilst trying to process the transfer in request, I tried to completed the process a several times during the night after 10 to be precise and an error was always displayed.
But when I tried to transfer in yesterday during the day time, the process which through with no error message and 24 hours later the money appeared within the account.
So I suggest trying to complete the process during the 9 to 5 hours.Girlie Girl0 -

If the former, that is a fantastic turn round, and highly unexpected0 -
Were you transferring from another providers cash ISA into Skipton, or paying new money in ?

It was a transfer from another provider. I had originally planned to open a West Brom ISA but gave up when a) they asked for certified copies of identity documents and b) this ISA became available. I was v pleasantly surprised too, the easiest ISA transfer I've ever done.0 -

I opened this isa online on 15/04 with a request to transfer in a Halifax isa. I got text confirmations from both Skipton and Halifax yesterday of a transfer in progress and this morning I got another text from Skipton that the transfer is complete. I've just checked online and it's all there. So again all done in 2 days.
I'm surprised that with the best instant access 'clean' rate cash isa Skipton isn't getting more attention on this thread?0 -
I also a text from Skipton this morning! I've already got branch based accounts with Skipton, but this is my first online account with them, very impressed with the level of service.0
