Arggggggghhhhhhhhhh!
day 1 of garden makeover and moany neighbour has complained to the workers. Not me, the home owner, but the guys out there. Why? Because the spoil heap from the back garden now sitting on the front, is 'an eyesore'
What on earth did he think we were doing? Digging up the back garden for fun? Does he not realise it's a work in progress before being left hopefully with a much more pleasant back and front garden?

Ironically, the previous occupants of our house were the archetypal neighbours from hell and had such a trampoline that her three little darlings used to jump high enough to throw items into next doors' garden...enfield_freddy wrote: »and this is being delivered on Friday for the kids to play in

I would have thought it common courtesy to let any neighbours you have that you are having building/gardening/any type of work that involves external contractors being on site potentially making additional noise/moving vans/equipment.
Id think it normal to mention it to them a few days beforehand and take them wine/flowers/other generic gift as a nice gesture. No?Sealed Pot Challenge:

Youre dead right strugglingyouth. If you let neighbours know beforehand its not only the right thing to do, but it takes the wind out of any complaints they may have.
Keyboard heroes will advise differently.0 -

Why did you assume that we didn't ? When we were going to start our work on both the house & the garden, we went round to each of our 5 neighbours personally to explain what we would be doing, the order of works & when we would be doing it and handed them each a box of chocolates. Acceptable, no ?"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -

See my reply above. Keyboard heroes are also those that take the moral high ground without worrying about fact checking first"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510
