AV2 now goes up to 1200 Mbps (nominal!), but how reliable they are I don't know. Solwise used to sell a 1000 Mbps homeplug, but withdrew it after problems.

Devolo and a couple of other manufacturers also produce 1200 Mbps homeplugs, the former at the usual price premium.

I ended up buying the cheapest gigabit plugs I could find in white.Like others have said I can always paint them black.
Anyway plugged them in and out of the box I got....158Mb download,12Mbps upload

That looks remarkably like the numbers for the speed you get on a broadband line - nothing to do with the effective data rates between your pair of homeplugs!

    What ?

Speedtests done with my previous homeplugs gave 20Mbps or thereabouts.
With the new gigabit ones it was 158Mbps.It dropped to around 80Mpbs during peak evening hours.

It is not the gigabit that has given you most of that speed it is moving away from v1 homeplug.

Solution to the Black rather than paint the plug create a cover just make sure there is room for airflow

or just a plate that goes over the front big enough in the background color
