I need to upgrade my Homeplugs from 10/100 to Gigabit due to having Virgins 152Mb fibre installed.
But I'm having trouble finding blacks ones at a reasonable price. They all seem to be white and white doesn't go with my decor...or my OCD :)
Anyone seen any ?
Must be cheap as this is a money saving forum after all :)

Comtrend did some black ones in the past but they would not be Gigabit. I've never seen anyone else do them in anything other than white.

Cheaper from Amazon with free delivery, I have been using them for twelve months to connect a YouView box without any problems.

You don't say which ones(the expensive ones) they are, some 650Mbps ones are 10/100

And do you expect the folks on here to google for you, then ask what are you are connecting them to (other than the router) , does your router present 1Gbps, and does your kit all run at 1Gbps?

100Mbps will be more than enough to stream your internet connection around, there is no way you'll get anywhere near that 152Mb speed, I've been on it since they upgraded from 100Mbps and not got close. 500Mbps is quick enough for a home network.

    Let me expand.
I have a pc connected by ethernet to the VM super hub.
I have experienced 151Mb on that computer.

The hub is also connected to another pc via 10/100 homeplugs. That pc doesn't see speeds over 25Mbps.
Before I had the fibre I was getting around 5Mbps on both computers via adsl
It looks to me like my current homeplug is the problem.

Lots of these homeplugs devices only have 10/100 ethernet ports no matter how high they say the transfer speeds are, like the one linked to earlier. That's why I'm looking for a gigabit version.

The pc in question doesn't have wi-fi although I do have a Belkin adaptor knocking about that I could try to see if that's faster than the homeplug.

Believe me I wouldn't be asking here if I hadn't already dome a lot of googling.:)
