Mortgage broker - how many mistakes is normal?

I personally have a very low opinion of mortgage brokers (sorry!).
You have managed to meet all 40,000 of them?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I always have a nice warm feeling inside when I meet someone organised who has the form completed with 3 months payslips, bank statements photocopied ID and the originals to check against all in plastic wallets... I love those people. But I think that has only happened 2-3 times in 2-3 years.
Ha, this was me! I was concerned the MA would think I was a bit bonkers. Or had a stationery fetish
. I do like a nice shiny plastic wallet... 0 -

Phew, I'm not the only one! I love new stationary and lists! Took everything in she needed at our initial meeting and updated them as needed. I hate being unprepared :rotfl:0 -

We tried to use cloud storage to send all of our docs (so that me, the mrs and the adviser could all add stuff, amend stuff etc).
This failed and we resorted to scanning and email, but no hard copies (apart from wet signatures in case needed).
Had we done so I suspect my wife would have been the stationery police, she loves an organized folder!0 -
Nothing wrong with being organised.
My other big love is when clients send documents labelled correctly and together.
ie bank statements all as one pdf labelled bank statements.
When I get img001.jpg through to img098.jpg and I have to go through everything putting them together and renaming them it takes forever and is VERY dull!
I wonder if my compliance people would allow me to amend my fees based on clients being organised or not

haha that's the dream! I work at a newspaper, the amount of files I can called "name of newspaper.jpg" "advert.pdf" , etc. Drives me nuts!
Probably why I liked to be organised, I know what a pain it is for other people to deal with otherwise... now if only Natwest would get on board and give me a decision on my mortgage

Nope!
Just to show it starts at an early age... I remember when I worked in a pub and some "woman" came in, I asked her how old she was and then her DoB - she made herself 16 rather than 18 - oops! Rather than giving up and admitting defeat she then added another 2 years and made herself 14.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
