Mortgage broker - how many mistakes is normal?

I send the factfind to clients before meeting them and the amount of times people still do not have the information on their to hand is quite surprising.
I always have a nice warm feeling inside when I meet someone organised who has the form completed with 3 months payslips, bank statements photocopied ID and the originals to check against all in plastic wallets... I love those people. But I think that has only happened 2-3 times in 2-3 years.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Not that im suggesting the OP is in the wrong here.
Just saying, a lot of the time applicants do not help themselves. Guessing dates etc rather than just being prepared.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I am not saying that it doesn't happen, as I am sure that clients guess dates of employment, time at addresses, but would you get your own DOB wrong

One mistake is one too many
So bebewoo what is it like to be perfect?
Show me an adviser who has never made a mistake submitting an online application and I will...........yes, you've guessed it.
It happens, unfortunately in this case it appears to be compounded by additional errors. Frustrating certainly, demoralising perhaps, but recoverable with quick action.0 -

she is trying to recover it - If it declines now though - After they accepted me based on the old figures, I will be so annoyed for her getting my hopes up!0 -
I personally have a very low opinion of mortgage brokers (sorry!). For the purchase of my ex local authority apartment the mortgage broker put an application to a lender who would not lend on this type of property. Despite me questioning the broker about this a number of times I was reassured it would be fine and guess what, on the day that I was due to complete, the funds were not transferred and the mortgage was refused. I then had a mad rush to find a lender who would do the deal quickly and incurred penalty interest in the meantime (bought in Scotland). My second experience of a mortgage broker was one who recommended me a NatWest mortgage and started the application. With a little bit of homework I found that NatWest were actually offering a better interest rate which I could have had access to. I phoned NatWest and they kindly transferred my application to this product without charging an additional fee- no thanks to the mortgage broker. I will be doing my own homework in the future!0

Hopefully they didn't forget it on the day and not buy the other half a present.
