Leaving from MAN going to Dominican Republic on 19/9 for 7 days staying at Bahia Principe, AI basis.
£1030 for 2 people.
Or alternatively, would go to Antigua, Tobago, Grenada... anywhere like that really...
This was without transfers, so if anyone could include transfers... then great.
Would also go SC or RO, depending on the price of local food and drink etc.

Nothing else from Manchester that I can find Rex hotels are pretty good I have stayed at a couple on AI most are only 3* but you pay for the location as well

But its the last day to book
I had just found this out last evening, and have been trying to find prices for Cuba for months, so I looked on the offers, and got a good deal.
I even checked other tour places etc, the same dates, same airport, and have saved a small fortune.:D
To Peter's question, I havent been to the rex papillion in st lucia, but holidayed in St lucia 3 years ago, stayed at another complex, (dire), but like any resort you get mixed reviews.
if you look on trip advisor you will get some different reviews, the hotel I have booked for cuba is the same, some like it and some dont, I think it depends whos working that week lol.
I will give you a little bit of advice about ST Lucia, its a beautiful country, but we felt that everyone was out to stiff you, I dont mean the staff at the complex, but everyone you meet wants money off you.
If your driving, and stop to ask for directions, they want money off you, they will speak to you in the street, then hold thier hand out asking for money.
The majority are very pleasant, but if you go on any excusrdions, the tour guide holds his hands out, infact everyone wants something off you.
Every friday, there is like a village carnival, in a place called 'gross inlet' I think its called, a lot of tourists go there, but go in a group.
You will get a local that will latch onto you, 'a bodyguard' as such, he' is only protecting his handout from you.
He will stand by you all night, acccept drinks of you, and expect some dollars
for being your bodyguard.
Its not as bad as it sounds, but you will get some drugged up local annoying you all night, pestering you, if there is a group of girls, the locals will pounce on them and drag them up to dance, and then ponce of them all night.
By having this guard (and to be honest you havent a choice), he then stops the riff raff from annoying you.
Young kids will approach you for money or beer, and I mean 7,8,9 year olds, they will drink the beer, and you see them smoking spliffs.
It is a shock, but that is how they live, fortuantely I only went the once to the 'village carnival'that was enough.
Be carefull when you go shopping in the markets, you wont get out alive till you buy something lol.
Was a lovely country, but I would never go again.0 -

I completely agree...It is a lovely island but people are not the friendliest we have ever seen in the Caribbean for that you have to go to Grenada
We found St Lucia alot more money grabbing than other island we had been on. But for a weeks chill out holiday you cant beat it at that price.
Pete...would you consider the Red Sea? weather will be nicer and a shorter flight for 1 week?If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Erm, I went to Egypt last year so fancy somewhere different!0

we have the same problem for October holidays ..knowing were to go is a pain and sometimes its not worth the holiday you get at the end of it...lol
Only wanting to travel from manchester is your realy stumble point.
Does it have to be excotic ? how about a good quality hotel somewhere like Cyprus. When you add it all up ....weather, traveling time, airport restriction and only having 1 week maybe something closer would be better Have you looked at the Cap Verde Islands? If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
I mean what is the general price/time ets to get from either liverpool or manchester to heathrow or gatwick??
I just dont like the average run of the mill holidays.... I like to go somewhere where firends and family haven't been!!
So exotic, or a bit out of the average 'scouser' ordinary!
Cape Verde islands.... I was looking but not sure.... where are they etc?0
