Random whatsapp window?

I had a random chat window appear with someone I've not chatted with... No message, no notification... just woke up and there it was. They are in my contacts list but we didn't have a conversation running.

Anyone know what might make that happen?

    It happens to me sometimes when my partner is keeping an eye whose new on my list :) , if you tap someone and go back it leaves empty window on chat.

    And also uninstall and re install whatsapp again, install avg virus scanner and run a scan to see if any virus is there..
