Help! What to do next

Options
A little while ago my hubby and I started to try to reclaim bank charges using template letters from another website. The bank replied to the letter requesting that our money should be returned saying that those were the charges they imposed and therefore they would not be returning the money. We then sent the letter threatening small claims court and have had nothing in return. What do we do next?
HAS anyone else had problems like this? We have since moved house and have been a little preoccupied so it is several months since we sent the letter. Also, there are charges to take a case to court that we don't really have the money for. After friends have been refunded from their banks I feel a little bitter that our bank seems so reluctant to even reply.
Also with everything that is happening at the moment in the news and claims being put on hold I don't know whether we will get any further.
Any ideas would be great!

Thanks
