I was complaining about the crop top thing at the weekend, it's not I couldn't wear them, but I did them all the first time round in the 90"s and thus feel I'm Prob past the age of having my midriff out (yes madonna....take heed :rotfl:). Seems 90's have all come back round with handkerchief hems and crochet dresses also s fav...is there ever a time when a crochet dress is a good idea?

I guess it's about picking bits that tou do like, they are out there. I'm not ready to leave shopping in the likes of River Island / Topshop (occasionally) and the younger section of Primark just yet. On a positive side, it means that there's less out there atm to tempt me into spending, and fashions change like the wind so next season it will be something totally different. They actually seem to be changing faster and faster, what happens when we've done the noughty's and 2010's - we've effectivly caught up with ourselves, do we start the clock again? Perhaps back round to 20's flapper, I love those dresses.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one missing V necks! I've been searching for V necked jumpers for the past two or three winters and they seem to be incredibly thin on the ground! Round necks just look silly on me, but there are SO many on sale!

I'm not sure overweight teenagers in flapper dresses would look any better than overweight teenagers did in crop tops back in the 90's.

Maybe a licensing system should be put in place for tight and/or revealing clothing.

One thing I buy religiously from Primark is their t-shirts - they do v-necks which are stretchy and a longer length in all kinds of colours.

I think I spent about £40 on t-shirts one day, considering they're £3 each or something I have quite a few! :rotfl:

I had the stretchy ones but found it isn't for me as I keep pulling the, down. They have non stretchy ones which is similar fabric to the Harry Potter tshirt I got. It's werid becaus the Harry Potter t shirt in a grey and white colour fabric made an 18 fit me and I'm normally bigger. I have couple tops in that fabric.

One thing I'm annoyed about is the jeggings. I got some couple years ago and they fitted well untill they changed deisgn. Anyways got some few month ago as a pair fitted well. Got another pair same size and style and design only to find it was smaller than my other pair. I hate shopping for bottoms as I can never find any to fit well. Hence I wait till breaking point. I'm more a top person I have loads but had a good sort out as my new jobs means il only wear them on weekend so good time to sort out.

Haha this reminded me when I was in school the uniform was black v neck jumper. No where sold them as they only had round neck. Had to resume my brothers untill found a shop which did them.

Now the school uses round neck grr

  • Aaah! A secret society of people who miss V necks! I look terrible in high necklines (even the small V necks are no good), but have really struggled to find them the last few years. I'm not really a good shopper, I tend to get bored very quickly, so I've always just assumed that it was me: that I should just be a bit more patient and I'll find them. It's good to know I'm not alone.

I have found a couple in charity shops.

Have you had a look at Lady Vintage and Lindy Bop? They do some lovely 50s style dresses and some of them really aren't too fancy for everyday

    Gorgeous

But way out my price range and also might feel a little bit to over dressed going to the seaside dressed like that LOL!!!

  • I hate the fact that so many clothes have no give in them - I'm very chesty with big shoulders and tend to rip non-slightly-stretchy things if I don't buy them far too big for my waist and hips!

Then there's the fact jersey is so comfortable but goes out of shape so quickly...I'm never satisfied :)
