Transfering existing O2 number to new O2 contract

Hi,

Appologies if this has been discussed before - I have searched for an answer.

Anyway, my current contract with O2 has expired and I am looking for a new deal, however the best ones all seem to be on O2 for new customers. Is there anyway I can transfer my existing number of O2 to a new contract? Maybe by transferring to PAYG for week and then onto a new O2 contract?

Yes you will have to port out to another company i.e. T-Mob, vodafone, orange or virgin. Then port it back when you come to buy your next 02 contract...

Can I do that through PAYG though? Is there a minimum period you have to be out of the O2 contract?

Have a look at my posting here regarding the exact same thing.

I'm going to hold off for another week before requesting my PAC from Tesco and then going back to O2 via Dial A Phone.

As far as I know there is no minimum period you have to be out of contract with O2.

I did this last year with (stelios's) easymobile. I then ported back to O2. I was on holiday for 2 weeks and it worked for me.
