I use itunes to download podcasts on a daily basis, and I have never had issues. I am an avid podcast listener, and get all my info and laughs through podcasts.
In the last few days, I seem unable to download any podcasts, due to error 9006 and error 3259.
Searches on google provide no useful info.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I also tried downloading a newer version of itunes, and that does not complete.

Do you have an Apple device?
If not you may find something like Juice or gPodder more reliable and certainly a smaller footprint.0 -
I do not have an Apple device. I only use itunes as an easy way to download my favourite podcasts.0

I have tried over and over. Even updating Avira, I get a message that says "an error has occurred, pls try later".
I tried junk removal tool and various other tools, and I am now at my wit's ends.
It is an old Stone laptop I bought from my son, when I bought him a new desktop.
Could it be the age of my laptop, or the fact there may be a virus?
I tried system restore, but unlike my previous XP device, W7 requires you to create a previous restore point, which I never did.
Don't know what to do.
Even thinking of doing a factory restore, but don't know how.0 -
Ditch itunes and use a proper podcatcher, like the ones already suggested.0

Have you tried downloading iTunes from Apple and saving the file, rather than updating from within the program by responding to the "new version of iTunes is available" message? The latter often fails for me too.0
