lol i think he was referring to getting extra lessons fromthe parents while also taking lessons from him
their parents were adamant they were right and were just confusing the poor learnerWhat goes around-comes around0 -
About 3 years ago they reduced my local ring road from 40 / 30 / 40 to 30 all along. Whilst the workmen were out changing the signs they had a camera van tucked away on one of previous 40 areas. In the interests of road safety or cash generation ?
Probably to protect the workmen getting killed!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
how many of us would actually pass? I have been driving cars and motorcycles for 26 years, currently teaching my 17yr old daughter to drive and I took the online practice theory test-FAILED, not by a lot but failed.
Give it a go, it opened my eyes
So you failed the online test and yet you're teaching your daughter to drive? :rotfl:0 -

Out of curiosity I just took it, 49/50. Maybe I got lucky questions, but most of them were plain daft - along the line of "If a bus is parked at a bus stop, should you rev your engine and accelerate hard past it, or be on the lookout for pedestrians alighting from the bus". Blimey, it's 30 years since I passed my test, but those questions are just common sense - even a non-driver could make a reasonable guess at most of them.0 -

Has there ever been an accident on those stretches due to speeding? No. Has a child ever been hit by a speeding car? No.
"Speed cameras should be used as a deterent [sic]. Make it obvious and 10,000 people know to slow down."
Take the officers away and you may find more accidents...0 -
That and the fact nobody believes it to be anything more than a money making exercise.
But hey, if people are breaking the law and the government wants to get some money because of it - again, what's the problem?
The only people who see it as a problem are those who are breaking the law regularly.0 -
