    Look at the feedback.

Looks like some poor seller has had their account hacked

It's a relative enough amount of money to make a scam but not too much to scare a buyer to open a case early.

DVD's is quick and high turnover. DVD accounts on ebay are strictly controlled but this guy has upped his game in the last few weeks by turning over a small fortune, only to then withdraw the money before the cases roll in. The account isn't hacked, it's probably been carefully groomed.

I did wonder if the fact they can use stock photos makes it easier? Instead of listing things and having to put photos on everything he just lists against the catalogue.

If you check out his sold items he sold 4 HP printers at 5K each between 25th-31st Jan, netting him a nice and tidy 20K, after that its all DVD's

Yep, and using completed searches you can make a guess at about £42K. Not bad for a week's work.

Won't there be a paypal hold at some point limiting the ability to spend the loot?

There should have been if he went from selling £10 DVDs to £5k printers- perhaps the scan didn't work quite as well as he had hoped and so he had to go back to DVDs?

Also of course if the 4 £5k printers were scammed then those 4 cases in paypal would have been enough to get him closed down- and he is still trading. There is something very odd here.

I suppose if linked scammers all buy off each other, and leave good feedback, then that would help?

I wonder what happens with things like this and the bank.
If the guy pulls all the money out, PayPal chase him, but how far does that really go?
I wonder if PayPal then charge his account, but he complains to the bank saying it's fraudulent and the money is then returned to his account?
