Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Hello everyone, thanks for starting us off Ally
Received a letter from our gas/electricity provider reducing our payment per month by £50 :money::money:

Wow that's great. I hope to follow in your footsteps very soon. Our winter usage has been ouch even with being very careful. Despite not turning our heating on till 1st December our bills have been over £100 for the last 3 months. The electricity is only £27 the rest is all gas. So we have now gone cold turkey and turned it off completely & am hoping our next bill will be a lot lower.

  • Good morning,

So far I've entered the sweepstake at work for the Grand National, something I do every year. Monbeg dude came in 3rd so a nice £8 return for 50p. The winnings are going in my pot.

I've checked FPL, banking, worked an extra shift at work, put my washing on a 30 degree wash, potted a few pennies I found lying round the house.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Ciao.

    Morning DFW-Ninjas,

Well, life goes on, and the debt goes down!

Time to get my butt into gear and face today head on. In a lazy mood, but if I don't get going I'll feel that I've wasted the day, so here goes:

    The List:

:starmod: Prepare for friend visiting tomorrow.

:starmod: Bit of light housework using Stardrops and washable cloths,

:starmod: OH is going to put me through my paces running locally this afternoon. Free training.

:starmod: Try to get OH's computer to boot-up. It's having a giant tantrum, again.

:starmod: Healthy chicken and veg lunch from stores. Didn't go to lovely, local inexpensive Tapas bar this weekend. Opted for spending the money on good quality fruit and veg instead.

That's all for now. Good luck on your quests, Ninjas.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
So today we went into central London for a day out but have actually been fairly frugal still.
I had 2 John Lewis vouchers for coffee & cake. It's unusual to have 2 that overlap but meant both OH & I could have tea &cake for free. The cakes alone would have been £7 so very pleased with that.
I used the opportunity to pop into Boots & have my points added on from an almost expired reciept.
I went into MaccyDs to claim the free donut I had a coupon for for my son
We walked for miles and miles through town from Waterloo to Kensington Gardens then back to Victoria.
We took a picnic so ate lunch in Hyde Park.
Met up with friends we hadn't seen for about a year who bought us all drinks and the kids ice creams, which was rather lovely of them.
And now off home, hopefully to a nice chicken stir fry if the meat has defrosted ok.
    Night all
    Bob
