    Hey all,

    Great thread as always x

    Today I have...
    B/L from stores
Tea, Pasta bake surprise, left over sausage & bacon taken off the boys plate at harvester the other morning with other bits of veggies from fridge (enough for another meal tomorrow too)
Went to Mr M's this morning as ds2 had asked to go back to Game to see if there were any other infinity characters on sale for him to buy with his pocket/Easter money anyway in Mr M's they had some reduced crumpets (this is hubby/kids regular sat/sun morning breakfast, usually costs £1.50 per weekend- hubby is particular over which brand he has of these) Mr M's had some reduced to 45p so we got 5 packs when I looked at the receipt it had taken £1.16 off as multi buy (shame I didn't get the 6th pack but hey!) so £1.09 for 2 + 1/2 weeks worth = happy men in my life :j
As per Dawn's mention, I have done a freezer list
Checked usuals tcb, quidco, fpl etc
Booked Mr T del for tomorrow (with bread etc ready for Monday's lunch boxes etc)
Weighed out wash powder as per box instuctions, made a mark on the scoop I use with a marker pen as I have been guessing how much was going in, box says 45 washes so we will see.
Entertainment tonight is going to be Bond's skyfall that we recorded the other night.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend x

    Afternoon all!

Eldest step son has been evacuated from his flat, there was a massive fire in the one next door which turned out to have been a cannabis farm and presumably some of the dodgy electrics caught fire. It didn't spread to his flat but they have massive smoke damage, everything is black and he's had to move back to his mums until it is cleaned up.

Oh no! We had a fire a few years back.

I recommend dissolving washing powder in hot water to wipe down hard surfaces.

The only air freshener that made any difference to us was Neutradol and even that wasn't all that efficient.

    Hello again :)
Sorry to hear about your stepson's hassle FVonD. Hope it all gets sorted soon. I am sure he didn't need that! (Ugh, I hate the smell of that stuff :()

Now done the freezer inventory, just need to write it out so that I can read it :o and attach it to the front of the fridge freezer in the kitchen to keep it in mind (we also have a small upright freezer in the conservatory for home grown veg and fruit, game that OH gets etc). There is LOADS in there, and I need to use it up rather than buying more.

I cooked chicken with roasted veg, gravy and broad beans for supper, and I made sure that there is enough chicken for tomorrow as well - it was only a little one, and OH thought it would only be enough for 1 meal. I insisted on two, as, to be honest, I am not bothered about meat and would happily have had just the veg and gravy. Still, there was plenty for both of us, and I am looking forward to coffee and a banana and berry muffin later :)
  • Hi everyone!

    Can I ask, what does B / L mean? :-)

Today everything we ate, we had in the house! Sausage sandwiches for breakfast, homemade cheese scones for lunch and quiche for dinner. All finished off with a homemade trifle! Tomorrow I am doing roast brisket and cleaning the kitchen cupboards out. I may bake a victoria sponge too, but with lemon curd instead of jam.
Proud to be dealing with my debts!

I've just read everyone's plans for today freezer inventories seemed to feature heavily. I write ours as a Google document which I share with OH, we then can access it where ever we are, including out and about or when shopping and suddenly spot something and wonder if we need it. Also we can keep it up to date easily. A few times year we do an over haul of the list by checking the list against the contents of the freezer which means we can delete anything we have failed or anything we have moved from one freezer to the other or into a different drawer and forgot to update. Usually this isn't many if any thing.

Ooh, yes, that's a thought, I know that boiling washing powder in a pan that's boiled dry works a treat at cleaning it up. I think their landlord is going to get it professionally cleaned but if not I'll mention that to him.

Funnily enough (if there is indeed a funny side to it) there was a clip on goggle box where the correspondent was reporting from in front of a burning pile of cocaine, cannabis and heroin and couldn't stop giggling and was having real trouble holding it together. I imagine step son and his flat mate were probably the most chilled about their flat possibly catching fire that the fire service had ever come across!
