It's a very new, very specialised aspect of ISAs. Cut them a bit of slack. What they - all of them - should have is a specialist team who can deal with bereavement type problems.0

To say that I am shocked by the lack of knowledge and staff training for BM staff is an understatement. I could hear them asking each other when they didn`t know the answers to my questions and even then they got the answers wrong
If you had read the document I linked, you would know exactly what guidance HMRC has given to ISA providers. You will probably find that they didn't do anything wrong at all. And yes, cut them some slack, it is a very new procedure, only been possible since April 6th, so it is understandable they might need to ask their colleagues.0
