    £5075.77 - 2021

Another month with low spends. Savings now around the £4000 mark.

Very chuffed with my nest pension I've had it two years this month and it's now got over £43,000 in it. This is really important for me as I'm on for around £6300 per year DB pensions so really need to sort that out.

New job going well but needing to start applying for jobs, very hard at the moment as all the local ones are wanting NQTs, very few I can apply for but two have appeared so need to get on with those applications.

Both neighbours on my little cul de sac have recently put their houses up for sale, one sold within 5 days for £50,000 more than I paid in 2018. Not that comparable as it is a different style. However, the other is identical to mine exact same floorspace. They're asking £90,000 more than I paid for mine - if they get it I'd be tempted to move!

Currently living in a building site but very pleased with the two new rooms. We had a box room and large bedroom and have jigged them around so both are 9m2. Neither are huge but both now take double beds, wardrobe and drawers. The box room didn't even take a wardrobe before it was literally a single bed and chest of drawers so it's a much better layout for our family. It's nowhere near finished as not plastered, electrics aren't in but the new windows, wall is in so I can see what it'll be like.

New carpets fitted in the new bedrooms. Girls back in their 'new' rooms. One is completely finished the other still needs a feature wall finishing.
Off to the beach today - my favourite place!

Beach was very busy and hot 🔥
I do love the coast. Lots of walking ice cream, fish and chips consumed. Spent £100 today including car parking but had a great day. Went as a gang of 8 (2 households) probably my fave day of the year so far. 12 hours we were out.
Sadly no rest on the home front as come home to 3 loads of washing. End of term pe kits on top of usual washing and also yesterday my mother had put the kids curtains in my washing basket so have washed those too! I've taken the hint.

Up early and have painted the ceiling on the hall/stairs/landing - new carpets being fitted this month so needs doing before that.
It's all been re plastered so if the rest of the house is anything to go by I reckon another 4 coats (hoping for another 2).
Ended up doing the lawn at 9.30 last night as it was just so hot - not sure if I've mentioned but I'm in the North (although quite a mild part) I can say this as I've lived in Lancashire, West Yorkshire and the North East and where I am now is considerably warmer/less rain and no snow!
Would like to go back to the beach today, but as we end up spending a fortune when we go and kids (don't like the sand) think it may be a garden day.

Sent my final overpayments for my year today, Year ends for me on the 2nd of July so today I sent a £5100 overpayment to one mortgage and £799 to the other to max my overpayment allowance for the year.
I should now owe approximately £153,000 which seems horrendous but £17,000 less than a year ago so could be worse!
Had a productive day at work (it may be the hols but I'll probably be working most of them) I've helped some colleagues film a video for new starters, finished the personal statement part of all my reports (just the levels to add after moderation/final assessments), writeen two personal statements for two internal posts, set up my classroom ready for next term. Finished the 2nd weeks phonics planning including flipcharts and additional work sheets. It was a productive 6 hours followed by a few hours reading my book in my garden.

That’s an impressive amount done for the next half term. I’m venturing into the classroom tomorrow and will be happy to get the classroom set up!
