    No spend day yesterday:j

As the girls went to the football early I was going to buy a magazine and sit in Costa for an hour before work. Anyhow the mser in me stayed at home, with a magazine I had saved from the bin the other day.

Get to sit in your own comfy seat at home too :D

Evening out sounded great and good for you. It can be so hard to have a social life as a parent, more so as a single one - too tired, babysitters, lack of time and money.

Is the lodger better behaved now? :)

  • I'm an oldie rebranded, not sure if you would remember me but thought I would pop in and say hello. Its nice to read some old name threads and see where they are now. I have been in hiding ;)

I do try and shop in Aldi but it doesnt have everything we need. It is only small.

Well done on getting the interest down, its a great feeling isnt it. My monthly interest is now on £25, to be paying that daily must have been crucifying. When I started journey I loved seeing how much each OP saved me in interest, these days its pennies for every £100.

I feel for you with the ex situation. I am doing this all on my own and have done for the past 10 years so admire your journey. I am probably still on my own because I dont want to give up all my hard work. I have spoken to friends about this, I have paid most of my mortgage off and to have someone come in and then share that doesnt seem right to me. They havent struggled for years and then if they moved in with me or we got a house together I would be scared to lose it all. Crazy thinking I know, but thats my head talking!

Today went to see a friend at xscape Castleford, loads if fun had by all:)

Have started serving various veg, sides in the middle at tea times. Today had yellow rice, white rice, red cabbage and sweet corn - finding girls eating much more once they have helped themselves.meant two salmon portions did four of us.

Have an agreement in principle for NatWest. 2.32 %, 3 year fix. Happy to have a lender but due to affordability have had to go back up to a 25 year term.

So having to decide whether to use savings to reduce mortgage before it goes through as once it does I'll be subject to 10% overpayments then charges, my mortgage is only £55,000:so I'll only be able to overpay £5500 a year.

My standard mortgage payment will be £257 so I'll be wanting to overpay then transfer into savings for at the end of the fix.
