Is this the right laptop for me to buy?

Hi All


I was thinking of buying the Intel 3 version of the laptop below for my sixth form child! It needs to give fast internet browsing, including Netflix without buffering, also good DVD performance.


The I3 version is £315 on Amazon. Do you techie experts think that will do what I need?

first item = i3-4005U score = 2470
second item = i3-4030U score = 2704


there seems to be many variant's of that models range

Should do, personally I’d be inclined to spend the little bit extra on the I5 version at £339 from misco.

Sorry if this is a numpty question, but how do you know it isn't particularly fast?

Netflix buffering and fast internet will have more to do with the broadband connection than the laptop.

You can always upgrade the hard drive and memory but you can't upgrade the CPU.

first item = i3-4005U score = 2470
second item = i3-4030U score = 2704


even the smallest intel "g" desktop computer has a reading of about 2500 and a fully blown i7 will exceed 10000 , 2500 is marginal , and there will be doubt's as to streaming or fast internet etc
