Hi Everyone,
I left my last job at the end of January this year, thankfully I have found another job which Im due to start at the end of April.
Ive just contacted my last employer asking if they would forward my P45 to me,I have just received a reply from them, this is what they have said.
*******************************
I have just received your request for your P45.
Unfortunately your P45 was sent a while back to the address you have stated below – once this has been done we cannot produce another.
What I have done for you is a statement of earnings (please see attached) which provides you with all the relevant information that you may need
********************************
I am certain it hasn't been sent to me or if it has then it must have been lost in the post, what Im asking is if this statement of earning that they sent with this email would be enough for my new employers.Just don't want to go on to emergency tax once I start my new job.
Any advice will be grateful.Thank you.

You are highly unlikely to be put on an emergency tax code. Fill in the P46, well technically its called the Starter Checklist but its a P46 by another name, when you start with the new company.0

Thanks so much for this information Inside Insurance,I honestly thought if my new bosses didn't have my P45 then I would be taxed to the hilt.
Will my new employer have the P46/Starter Checklist do you know or would I have to send away for one of these forms please?0 -
Also contact HMRC as it is quite possible that you may be due a tax refund for the tax year just ended."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

You can download one from the HMRC website (well you certainly could when it was called a P46)!0 -
You still can but the odds are your employers will give you one anyway0

According to my last employers I was on code 1000L,does this mean we can earn more before being taxed this year blondbubbles?0
