My tax code for 2014/2015 is 1000L chrisbur and I started my last job in March 2014,I left this job at the end of January 2015.I,ll be starting my new job at the very end of April 2015.
Does this mean I will start on 1060L ??

What will you be doing between Jan 2015 and starting new job end of April?

As P45 lost in post then you should be asked to make a new employee declaration and you can select A this is your first job since 6 April 2015. Your new employer can then use the emergency tax code 1060L on a cumulative basis which from what you have said is what your tax code is anyway so that should be all settled. Problem is not all payroll depts. do what they are supposed to do so you may find them using some other code, if this happens probably best to contact HMRC and ask them to issue correct code to your employer.

Best of luck with the new job.
  • Thanks ever so much for this chrisbur,I fully understand what I now have to do.
And thanks for the good wishes, just so happy theres someone out there who,s willing to give me a chance. Thanks!!
