Blocked me to clamp me

Just to clarify, clamping on private ground (which a Sainsbury's car park is) was banned under section 54 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.
Also, under the new bailiff regulations that came into effect last April, bailiffs are prohibited from clamping vehicles on private ground (such as supermarket car parks, out of town shopping outlets (such as Bluewater etc) and motorway services.

Yes, that was established by some other posters last week. The point I was making was that illegal clamping had not taken place so was pointless reporting illegal clamping to the police. It's probably also pointless reporting the blocking in after the fact when the OP was able to 'escape' by virtue of having a 4x4. The time to phone the police was when he was actually blocked in.BenefitMaster wrote: »Actually, even deliberately blocking someone from leaving the land is illegal.

Blocking IS illegal. Just a guy in a van going around chancing his arm. If you see him again, take his number and inform the police.0

UPDATE:
1. Im not making this up.
2. I went back to the car park, its not sainsburys land, its next to their car parks. No van around(and i even parked in the same car park), i phoned the company that enforces parking in this car park from the signs and explained what happend, they have stated that this was NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM whatsover. As much as i hate doing it i telephoned plod and told them, they did seem interested and took al the details, but said without being able to clearly idnetify the van they cant act on it but will check.Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].

So either the company you telephoned (who?) is lying (it's not unheard of for parking companies!) or you encountered some total chancer trying to extort a few quid from you on someone else's land. There almost certainly never was another van with a larger clamp (or even a regular-sized clamp in the first van).
Pity you didn't note the registration, this criminal needs his collar feeling by the Plod. Maybe you could go back to the same car park and try to entice him again, being careful only to park in spaces where you can repeat your off-road stunt if necessary (or just drive round it occasionally in the hope of spotting him and his van so you can give Plod the information they need).Je suis Charlie.0 -

I visit the store once or twice a week,so will be keeping an eye out. I only used the car park as it was always empty, although the furthest from the shop as my car always gets dinks on it as it doenst really fit in the normal bays, was ok when my kids were smaller as used to park in 'parents' bays but my kids are teenagers now.Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].

The car park for our local Morissons is actually a council car park.
The new bailiff regulations state that a vehicle can be taken if it is on a 'public highway'.0 -
