I think you might be making an assumption that I don't work for an operator.

We support globally, why do you think we could not support a field in Sussex?

I think it's highly unlikely that support companies would be based anywhere other than Aberdeen given the level of expertise and cultural knowledge from a shared legal system etc.

This has to be one of the most ridiculous new releases I've seen for a while. I know junior O&G stocks like to pump their prospects but I can't believe the mainstream media has given this company so much coverage.
Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

It's not about accumulated debt. For fun I went to the BoE website to see what base rates have been since Scotland joined the union. I applied base rates to the debt Scotland brought along, compounded of course because that's what interest does. The end result, a couple of years back now I confess, was a trillion quid which at the time was remarkably close to the then UK debt.

I understand your point now, but to compare the debt of the 1600's to now is missing a hell of a lot of other factors ;)

Yes it is and my methodology is for all to know.

I might redo it actually. See where Scotland's debt would be now and also see what debt England, Wales (and Ireland?) had at the time.

Or even better, they could use the find to provide Scotland with the sort of oil fund that was denied to it first time round.

Then, any leftovers can go to the English economy. :)

    Ha!

We made the decisions back in the 80s which we thought were right for the country.

No point in trying to rewrite history.

If we did, the Romans would be putting claims in for our road, sewage system and structural underpinnings!

Such bitterness. As Gen points out, few English people are bitter about the £300K+ plus given to Scotland 300 years ago.

    Time to move on :)

    If you really want to.

I'm sure however unless there is extensive research carried out including calculating expenditure, versus revenue, versus population percentages in each region, in each year, there will be many holes to pick at.

Or you could accept that part of joining the union was accepting the debt at that time and part of any future exit would be proportioning debt to leave form the current debt levels.

would be nice to see a sovereign wealth fun this time, and not the whole lot blown on one boomer generation like before.

    Of course.
