Macbook Pro 13" or wait for 15"

If you're set on a MB, the only real question is ... Is a 13" screen big enough for you?
PS - the Apple UK website lists a MBP 15"
That's the Retina version. I don't like them as the tech specs aren't as good as the normal MBP and they are much pricier. I want a 15" normal MBP but sadly they only do 13' now.0 -

I have a MBP and I would never go back to a Windows laptop. I much prefer the Apple OS, it is so much easier to use and great for integrating my other Apple devices. Also the laptop itself is much better than any Windows laptop or PC I've ever had. It turns on in an instant compared to my Windows laptop that has a far better spec than the MBP.
exactly, I know I can get cheaper, however I agree with the above.
In my other posts I advised that my imac, iphone are all synced with contacts, documents, calendars etc.
I spend a lot of time on the road, and this is very convienient for me.
I could buy a car without alloy wheels, cruise control etc. but I choose to spend MY. Money on these things!0 -

Unfortunately another victim of apple. As you said they are all synched together. You are now a part of the apple 'system'.
So has it occured to you that you are now in essence being offered very little actual choice thanks to apple but to pay for their stupidly priced products?
So good luck with your choice (or actual lack of) and don't regret spending over £1500 on a computer to do basic tasks.0 -

You really have no idea what you're talking about. We have all the choice we could want.
I have Apple stuff, an iMac and Macbook, I also have a Samsung S4 phone and 10.1 Tablet as well as Linux PCs and a Windows 7 machine and they are all synced automatically, email, contacts, photos, calendars the lot and they all play really nicely together.
You make no useful comments or contribution to any thread I've seen you post in. All you seem to be interested in is your pathetic crusade against all things Apple.
Why do you care what choices other people make?
We all have our reasons for those choices. It might be as simple as liking the shiny aluminium case or it might be that £1500+ is loose change or any other reason people can and do come up with. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

Did you actually read what the OP said? Go on, have a look.
They are pretty much admitting that they have very little choice but to buy an apple product which is of course is exactly what apple wants.
Did you look at my previous post showing a £1500 laptop and how suggesting that the op bought that would be ridiculous overkill and a waste of money for what they are doing, though it seems perfectly fine for people to recommend a £1500+ apple machine where a sub £400 machine will do what the op needs one for.
Oh yes, I forgot the apple fanboi mantra. 'It's their money', regardless of the fact that this is the MSE forum.0 -

Like you did when you ignored the part about not wanting the overpriced comments.
I saw him mention convenience and the fact that as he already has the Mac version of the software he uses so buying a Macbook means no extra expense having to buy the Windows version, this is MSE after all. :rotfl:One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

Thanks, clearly some people, for whatever reasons love to hate apple. It may Make them feel special as they are fighting the system? Who knows.
It's always personal choice, I have always been a pc user, but I know find apple so slicker and more suited to my working needs.
I think I am leaning towards the 13"0 -
Macs are like Porsches. You only buy a boxster because you failed in life and couldn't afford a 911.
I'm not a fan of Apple, but if i was going to get one, you might as well buy the best they offer.0 -
I'm using a Macbook Pro 13" Retina and it has a lovely display. I doubt most sub £400 laptop displays would be as nice to look at (in terms of picture quality) and I doubt the machine would last in terms of build quality. I fix computers all the time... plus Windows 8 might drive you mad.
I think a MCP 13 do the job but if you intend to do a lot of photo stuff, maybe a bigger screen on the 15" may be better (I also wanted a bit of portability though as weight was a big deciding factor for me). I only do a bit of editing here and there but sometimes wonder if I'd enjoy the 15" more for those things. Also depends on how mobile you need to be. Of course, you can also connect up to a big TV/screen and work in conjunction.
note: I also have 3 or 4 other Windows laptops (after selling 3-4 others) and Windows Desktops and an iPad mini. I'll buy what I want if I can afford it. The Mac OS is less problematic than Windows so it's about user experience also.0
