Hi all i was sitting in a Mcdonalds car park catching up on months worth of paperwork ( and drinking coffee from Mcdonalds ) and i was issued a fine !
I was fined for being a customer this is ridiculous. I have emailed them to appeal and they have said i have to pay and give me the poplar reference code.
what should i do now?

If you overstayed the stated period, regardless of whether you were in the car or whether you were a customer, an 'invoice' is to be expected.
Just follow the instruction on these forums to deal with it.
Or pay £16 to https://www.appealparkingticket.co.uk/ to not deal with it.0 -
1. It's not a fine.
2. Read the Newbies thread and learn how to win a PoPLA appeal.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Appeal to POPLA. Read the section on POPLA appeals in the NEWBIES STICKY THREAD at the top of this forum.
Essentially, the parking company have suffered no loss, and they more than likely don't have any legal standing on the land in question.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
i will have a look at the sticky - thanks guys

What is the world coming to? i didnt even see any signs either.0 -

This cannot be recommended. That operation is now on its third incarnation having Phoenixed twice leaving paying customers high-and-dry each time.
If you want someone else to deal with it these are the people: http://www.privateparkingappeals.co.uk/Je suis Charlie.0 -
its also not a fine, its an invoice, you have not been fined
either appeal yourself or use the last link in post #6 above, not the other one that sinister wrote
this is actually quite common, and being in the car or not is irrelevant , the vehicle was parked (stopped) on private land
I would appeal myself by following the info in the NEWBIES sticky thread near the top of this forum0 -
Oh and while you are following the above excellent advice .... go back to M and complain complain and complain ...

Don't use any appeal site. All the information you need and assistance is here. Paying an independent appeals company £16 is a waste of money when you can get it for free.0

Didn't know that ... I had a friend use them a while back, with success. I haven't personally used any such services having never received an invoice for parking on private land.
The website you linked to does not inspire any confidence.Don't use any appeal site. All the information you need and assistance is here. Paying an independent appeals company £16 is a waste of money when you can get it for free.
Depends on how much time you have and how much you value it at.
Should I receive a parking invoice I would either pay it or have someone else deal with it for me. I have very little time to deal with additional paperwork and other BS and value my time somewhat highly.0 -
When you appeal it costs the PPC over £30 so make sure they cough up.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
