Oh, and I've yet to meet any "chavs" in there.

People who claim Aldi isn't cheaper than Tesco/Morrisons etc make me laugh no only do they have better base prices , they also as smaller have less impulse buy pressure and are quicker to get around. I can do a weekly shop in Aldi in half an hour or less, if we go to Tesco -we spend more, come back with more impulse buys and it takes forever as OH loves a browse and is forever wandering off to look at "stuff" so I end up getting ratty as for me a supermarket is somewhere to get in and get out as fast as possible.
Waitrose is always full of Yummy Mummies stopping to chat and blocking up the (not very wide) aisles whenever I've gone there.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I think I've been in Waitrose once. I was away and had forgotten some porridge pots. It was the closest supermarket to me. If I'm away and need something, that's generally the case - don't care where I shop; just as long as I can get some food!Sealed pot challenge #232. Waitrose, mainly as its the only supermarket where I know I won't have an inconsiderate idiot opening their door into mine.0

Do Waitrose's not have car parks where you live then ?

The one in Coulsdon was always having people shouting at each other after incidents like that as it was so small compared with the other local supermarkets.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Perhaps, but I'm happy to pay the difference if it means not having to rub shoulders with the chavs and proletariat.
Im sure even poorer people shop at waitrose, doesn't it price match Tesco on most items.
People from many different backgrounds and incomes shop in aldi and lidl, but I'm sure you know that, you are clearly just trolling for a reaction.0 -
The chavviest store where I live, is tesco, by a mile.0

The Waitrose near me has huge parking spaces so it's possible to open your door all the way and avoid the car next to you, unless your parking is terrible. It is however part of a shopping centre so the supermarket can't take credit for this.0

OtherI buy most of our food from the butcher, greengrocer/market and fishmonger. I tend to use the co-op for most other things especially with the regular money off vouchers, I find it has some of the cheapest gluten free products including flour. We do buy milk for my wife and son from Sainsburys, as locally they are the highest payer per litre.0

I like aldi and lidl because they are not too big and I come out still as happy as I go in, which is no mean feat for me and supermarkets.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
TescoWhichever one will deliver the stuff I want at the time I want.
Currently, that's Tesco.
I'd have to agree. I tend to do a shop on line, once or twice a week with Tesco when I'm working. I buy their delivery saver which means I can have a Sunday morning delivery for next to nothing. Quality is usually good and, if I'm unhappy with anything delivered, I can call up for a refund.
During holidays, I will shop all over, including Morrisons, Sainsbury's and M & S/Waitrose on occasions. M & S Dine for £10 is worth a visit. I like shopping in small supermarkets which is why I favour my local Sainsbury's. They send me vouchers, as do Morrisons, which tempts me in. I use Aldi occasionally, mainly for their 85% dark chocolate mini bars, brazil nuts and walnuts.0
