AldiI would have said Aldi before the weekend. Now I am blaming their lovely (and cheap!) chocolate for the distinct tightness of my clothes!0

I actually shop more in home bargains than I shop in aldi these days, but if I had to pick one from the above list it would be aldi.0

So a studio flat in a rough area?Feral_Moon wrote: »and live in £250k+ properties.
Unfortunately property prices dont translate well when there is such disparity between different areas of the country.Feral_Moon wrote: »Whereas it's not uncommon to find lower class pseudo-rich shopping for essential range produce in Waitrose :rotfl:
Our Waitrose is on the edge of the town centre and inbetween it and the university. Dont get lower class/ pseudo-rich in there but do get plenty of students buying their party supplies which isnt your typical image of Waitrose.0 -
I've always wondered the same thing. I rarely wander into M&S (because I can get most of my food elsewhere) and always thought they were more for "I'm hungry and want something now", rather than somewhere to do the weekly shopping.
I bought a couple of vouchers from groupon for M and S and my local one was heaving which surprised me as its a relatively poor area and the prices of the food were eye watering and it was people who were food shopping for the home, more than people doing shopping for sandwiches for lunch for example.0 -
TescoPlenty of competition around us, but it really depends what we are buying. Tesco for our general tins, toiletries. Butchers and Grocers for our meat, fruit & veg. Aldi or Lidle for the odd non food bargains. Asda for fresh bread or over the counter fresh food, Iceland for our frozen products.
In this respect there are no favourites, albeit Tesco is our main shop.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

AldiI shop at Tesco, Sainsbury and Aldi. Tesco is my closest so tend to go there just for a last-minute small shop. Sainsbury are always sending me 6 quid off a 30 quid shop vouchers, so I tend to go there, but overall Aldi is the best for prices IMO, so I generally gravitate to Aldi.
Tesco are best for veggies IMO as Aldi have been a let-down a couple of times with tomatoes going off very quickly and bugs in their brocolli. The pepperoni pizzas at Aldis for less than a quid are excellent !!!! :T0 -
WaitroseI use Waitrose and Sainsburys. I don't have any of the cheap supermarkets near me. If I were rich I would use Waitrose for everything! I love the unusual food and the quiet, clean stores.0

My MIL is hooked on their champagne truffles. She says they are the nicest ones she's ever tried. She's had ones from M&S and Sainsburys but the Aldi ones are the best! I don't like the champagne ones, but the chocolate ones were very yummy!0 -

I used to work near an Aldi and it was exactly like that. I remember they once had loads of horsey stuff in stock (stuff for grooming horses etc). The only problem was this store was in a poor inner-city area and the only horses anyone saw were police horses!0
